Event overview
In this meeting of the IRI / OSA working group, we will share a new research project that investigates how stock audits in retail are designed, conducted, and evaluated, and how legal, auditing, and operational requirements shape these practices.
Going into this research, we know that stock audits require substantial resources and are essential for reliable financial reporting, their design varies considerably across organisations, and relatively little is known about the reasons for these differences or which approaches are particularly effective. Through interviews with representatives from retail, auditing, inventory counting services, and other relevant fields, we aim to bring together different perspectives, identify key challenges, and develop practical guidance for reliable and efficient stock audit practices
Beyond sharing this research proposal, this meeting will also be a chance to explore with the retailers joining the meeting, their answers to the question, why do you count?
This meeting is for retailers, CPG’s and academics.
