This working group meeting started with key highlights from the benchmark survey completed by 25+ retailers. The full results are available on request, and perhaps one stand-out finding was that these retailers estimated that 14% of the waste at a typical store can be attributed to broken fridges. Broken fridges matter!

After this, Coop UK shared their journey to connect up and remotely monitor their entire fleet of fridges, cabinets and freezers, deploying software that can help predict when things are going to go wrong before they go wrong, and more progressively, their capability now allows them to optimise the use of energy.
