Date and Time:
June 10th - 12.30pm
Location:
Virtual
10 Jun 12:30 PM
Organisers:
Colin Peacock, ECR Retail Loss
Description

In this meeting, the working group will turn its attention to the losses associated with a retailers store assets, starting with shopping trolleys / carts, which in one retailer is circa 5% per year, which means buying another 2-3,000 replacements a year. A significant additional cost but also a huge inconvenience to shoppers.
The meeting will start with a retailer case study, with that retailer sharing the nature and scale of their problem, their current understanding of the root causes, for example, trolley theft for resale, trolley theft for scrap metal, anti-social behaviour, and then the impact of their different interventions and trials. Their talk will close with their immediate next steps and an outlook of their future thinking, are plastic trolleys inevitable?
The group will then discuss the case study retailer, and share back their own plans. A benchmark survey will be shared in advance, and the findings reviewed in the meeting.
This meeting is for retailers, producers and academics only.
