Description

Facial Recognition in Retail - Latest Retailer Updates

In our 2025 annual review of this technology and the "watch list" use case were heard how this biometric technology can be the retailers newest most perfect loss prevention employee (it turns up every day, is always attentive, never misses a trick, cannot be distracted, etc), and delivers a 25% reduction in shrink, a 17% decrease in abuse and violent incidents, cuts down investigations from 3 weeks to 3 hours, lets you see patterns in alerts for better scheduling of security officers, etc. And yes, there needs to be strong disciplines, procedures, and controls in place on incident reporting detail, the management of data and then training, to ensure that alerts and good customer service can be delivered safely in a way that prevents theft and violence.

And yet, the adoption and the scaled deployment is very low! In this annual update, we will get to learn what some of those barriers are, and the role of industry groups to help build consensus on how to use this technology in a compliant way, and to build the confidence of law makers.

This meeting is for retailers, brand owners and academics only.
