Event overview
With retailer momentum growing behind GS1 Sunrise 2027, especially in fresh, our second meeting of this year will bring together retailers including Walmart, Tesco, Woolworths and others looking to share updates on both their QR code overall strategy, which will include reducing food waste as a core focus, but with an eye to developing a more expansive, end to end tracking and trace capability.
As in our previous meetings, we will get to hear about the hard lessons being learnt on the deployments to date, the quality / read accuracy challenges on QR code printing at source with the support their suppliers across the very different packaging formats, the investments in changed hardware and software, and then some insights on the early benefits, including those surprising but unforeseen benefits [and maybe disbenefits?] – our paper on the ten key factors required for a scaled deployment in grocery might be a helpful quick pre-meeting read. If you are a retailer already on the journey, this meeting should be reassuring with hopefully one or two “nuggets” of insight that might benefit your own programme. If you are just thinking about getting started, this should be an excellent chance to hear from your peers and get to ask them questions.
This meeting is for retailers, producers and academics only
